The Rio Grande Water Conservation District (RGWCD) has undertaken numerous projects.  The Closed Basin and the Norton Drain projects are of the most notable projects that the RGWCD has completed.  The San Luis Valley Regional Habitat Conservation Project (HCP), and the Rio Grande Natural Area (RGNA) are the most current projects that the RGWCD has undertaken.  The HCP is still pending and is waiting on comments from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Services. The RGNA advisory committee is in the process of developing a management plan.
