Subdistrict #1 Work Session
A special working session of the Board of Managers for Special Improvement District No. 1 of the Rio Grande Water Conservation District is to be held on January 30, 2012. The meeting will be held at the Bureau of Reclamation Building located at 10900 E. US Highway 160 in Alamosa, CO 81101 and will begin at 8:30 a.m. No decisions will be made, but this meeting is open to the public.
Program Manager Position
The Rio Grande Water Conservation District is now hiring for the position of Program Manager. The Program Manager will be responsible for managing the various programs and legal responsibilities for Subdistrict #1 of the Rio Grande Water Conservation District and additional subdistricts as they are created. The Program Manager must be capable of developing strategic plans to comply with the Subdistrict plans of replacement. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of the use, measurement and distribution of surface and underground water as well as a general understanding of augmentation plans. The position will be responsible for the allocation and coordination of water supplies within the subdistricts and stream systems and will require considerable interaction with the Division of Water Resources at the state and local levels as well as other water entities within the San Luis Valley. The Program Manager will be responsible for supervisory support of Subdistrict job duties and provide guidance to staff regarding analysis of data including decreed water rights. The position will require extensive communication skills including public speaking and interaction with the public. Other desired skills include basic agronomy, database use and mapping software. Notice and Solicitation of Bids
The Board of Managers of Subdistrict No. 1 hereby gives Notice of their intention to seek agreements with landowners to fallow land located within the exterior boundaries of Subdistrict No. 1. In order for a proposal to be considered by the Subdistrict for the calendar year 2012, any proposals must be received by the Subdistrict no later than January 31st, 2012. Click Here To Read More
Report on Annual Public Hearing October 11, 2011
